REPORTAGE: rio sambu

Darien, Panama. 2008

From the town of Meteti and, across the Goulf of San Miguel, deep into the Rio Sambu to the core of Darien jungle.

Exploreing a lost world, just like in a Conrad tale, on the steps  of the Embera indigenous tribes, some of the last preserved tribes in Cental America stil living out of the resources of the rainforest.

Roads and big cities are far away and  international political issues  keep this region far from development.

The project focuses on the relationship between the african descendants and the natives in this untouched and isolated environment.
